ELIZABETH BARKER, MS, LMHC
Elizabeth received her Master’s degree in Counseling/Psychology at
Alaska Pacific University in 2010. Her professional experience
includes previous work in Community Mental Health, Private Practice
and now owns her solo practice in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
Elizabeth utilizes a client-centered approach to incorporate specific
treatment modalities for areas of concern. For example, Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy is helpful for anxiety and depression; while
bereavement therapy helps process loss. Behavioral issues are
addressed for children, often through play therapy techniques, to
promote and teach emotional regulation, coping skills for anxiety and
depression, or process trauma.
Elizabeth’s goal is to offer you a healing, therapeutic experience
where trust, integrity and validation will be your experience.
Confidential therapeutic support will assist you or your family member
in areas of grief and loss, anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and

Whether you are a college student, adult or have concerns for your
child, Barker Counseling, LLC would be honored to assist you or your
family member through the process of personal growth and healing.
